How do I calculate how many rolls of wallpaper I need? (Studio Ditte collection)
Example: Suppose you have a wall 2.5 meters wide and 2.7 meters high.
Divide the width of the wall by the width of the roll (45 cm): 2.50 / 0.45 = 5.56. Round this number up (6). This means you need 6 strips. Calculate how many strips you can get from a roll. Note: There are three different versions wallpaper.
Scrapwood wallpaper: with this wallpaper you do not take a subsequent pattern into account. A roll is 9 meter and the pattern repeats after 4.5 meters. Divide the length of the roll (9) by the height of the room: 9 / 2.7 = 3.33. Round this number down (3). This is the number of strips you can get from one roll. So you need 6 strips and you get 3 from a roll. You then need 6 / 3 = 2 (rounded up) rolls scrapwood wallpaper.
Robot, cars and porcelain wallpaper: a roll is 6 meters (consecutive) and the pattern repeats after 3 meters. If you want to repeat the pattern nicely you can get two strips from a roll. Do you find this is less important, you can divide the length of the roll (6) by the length of the height: 6 / 2.7 = 2.22. Round this number down (2). This is the number of strips you can get from a roll. So you need 6 strips and you get 3 from a role. You then need 6 / 2 = 3 (rounded up) rolls of wallpaper.
Vintage scraps, birdhouse, button and ribbons wallpaper: on a roll are two separate strips of 3 meters long (divided by whitespacing). The pattern repeats after 3 meters. This means you get 2 strips from this roll. For a wall of 2.5 x 2.7 meters you need 6 / 2 = 3 rolls of wallpaper.
How do I calculate how many rolls of wallpaper I need? (Wallpaper collection designed for BN wallcoverings)
Example: Suppose you have a wall 2.5 meters wide and 2.7 meters high.
Divide the width of the wall by the width of the roll (53 cm): 2.50 / 0.53 = 4.72. Round this number up (5). This means you need 5 strips.
To calculate the number of strips from 1 roll, you must calculate the length of the strip. All wallpapers have different repetitions. Because there is a repetitions you have to add the pattern height at the height of the wall, so 2.70 plus for example 27 cm = 2.97 m.
Calculate how many strips you can get from a roll. The length of 1 roll is 10 meters. There can be 1000 / 297 = 3.37 strips taken from 1 roll. Round this number down (3).
In the example, there are required 5 strips for the wall. Since there are 3 strips going from 1 roll, you need 5 / 3 = 1.67 rolls of wallpaper. Rounded up to full rolls are 2 rolls of wallpaper.
How do I transfer the Studio Ditte wallpaper on my wall?
We recommend unpacking the wallpaper and leaving it for about 2 hours, loosely wrapped around the roll. This way, the wallpaper can adapt to the room humidity before applying it to the wall, in order to achieve the best results.
Supplies: glue for non-woven wallpaper, glue roller, seam roller, wallpaper ruler, box cutter and a soft cloth.
Step 1 Apply the glue directly to the wall. Apply approx. 15 cm more glue than the width of one strip on wallpaper. That way you prevent the glue roller to touch already applied wallpaper.
Step 2 Apply the wallpaper directly to the wall. The strips must be glued tightly together. Use a soft cloth to smooth the wallpaper. To press the seams you can use a seam roller.
Step 3 Cut the wallpaper to size. This is best done with a wallpaper ruler and a box cutter.
Step 4 Wipe all remainders of glue from the wallpaper with a damp cloth, before the glue dries.
What does the batch number on the roll mean?
You can see from the batch number on the roll from which batch the wallpaper is. If you need multiple roles for a wall, it is advisable to only use rolls from a single batch. This to avoid small color differences between the rollers.
