Makeover children's room Lucas
Lucas' room got a makeover for Tuk Magazine by Elina Styling. What a great room it has become! Waterfall wallpaper by Studio Ditte has been used on the wall. The bed is made up with a stone blue duvet cover, combined with a petrol green checked fitted sheet. And on the shelf is a poster with a lion by Studio Ditte. Favorite wallpaper and favorite colors
Patty says that Lucas is so incredibly proud of his new room. She is also very happy with the end result, it suits them both. “The waterfall wallpaper on the wall has become really fantastic! At first I thought that this wallpaper would be far too present in this narrow room. But Elina has combined the wallpaper in such a way that it is a perfect addition. The room no longer seems so long and narrow. The end result speaks for itself. A cool Lucas room. His favorite wallpaper and his favorite colors. A room that he will hopefully enjoy for a long time.”
Color in combination with wood
“In the rest of our house you mainly see neutral colours. A calm base of beige, white and mainly wooden furniture. In the children's rooms there could be a bit more colour, in combination with wood, that's true. We wanted the rooms to suit the children, their age, but also our interior style. We extended Lucas' room, we included the adjoining balcony in his room. That made it a narrow, long room. We found it difficult to furnish it in a good way. Fortunately, we were also able to participate in the Tuk Make-Over concept for Lucas' room and Elina helped us come up with the interior!
Timeless wallpaper for the nursery
We let Lucas look at all the options that Elina presented to us. It is his room and we also wanted him to feel that he had a say in it. For example, we let him decide which bed it would be. Lucas also wanted a place where he could play, draw, listen to music and chill. He did not want to sleep too close to the window, and he wanted a nice lamp by his bed, because he does not like the dark that much. From the first moment Lucas saw the waterfall wallpaper by Studio Ditte he was sold. THIS IS WHAT I WANT! His favorite colors are green and blue, so this suits him perfectly. The room had to suit him, his age, but also fit our ‘style’, and not be too crazy. We also wanted to prevent him from getting tired of his room in two years, so timeless was a plus..”
Personal touch
There was an empty wall at the back of the room, which was perfect for shallow shelves. The Mosslanda picture frame shelves from Ikea were painted in the color Georgie (Day at the Zoo) and formed a beautiful unity with the waterfall wallpaper from Studio Ditte. The shelves created space for a personal touch in the room: Lucas has room for his favorite books and posters, including a lion poster from Studio Ditte.
