How do you make a cradle or crib?
Studio Ditte has beautiful cotton sheets for the little ones in its collection. Sheets in soft white cotton with beautiful prints. The sheets can create a beautiful atmosphere in the baby room or toddler room. But how do you make a cradle or crib? How do you ensure that your newborn baby or toddler sleeps safely?

Make the baby bed firm and short
Children under 2 years of age sleep safer under a blanket with a bed sheet or in a sleeping bag. It is important to make the baby bed firm and short. Your child sleeps most safely with his feet almost against the foot end. You put in the bedding firmly, in and the sheet comes up to the shoulders. This way you prevent your child from sliding down and getting under the bedding. Make sure you put the blanket and the sheet at the bottom and sides at least 10 cm below the mattress. At the top, you put the sheet around the blanket, so that you can see an edge (approx. 20 cm) of the sheet on top of the blanket.
Horizontal mattres
With a newborn baby you will have to put a large piece of the sheet and blanket under the mattress. Make sure that the mattress is not higher at the foot end than the head end. You can prevent this by placing a blanket under the other part, so that the mattress is horizontal again.
Duvet cover
Do not use a duvet for the first 2 years. A duvet can become too warm for a baby. And a duvet can’t be put in very tightly. You might use a blanket in a duvet cover. It is important that the blanket is the same size as the cover and that you don’t fold the blanket double in the cover. And here too, the duvet cover on the bottom and sides must be placed at least 10 cm below the mattress.
Bed linen for children from 2 years
For children from 2 years, Studio Ditte has duvet covers in crib size, junior size or 1-person size.
Crib - 100 x 135 cm
The cover is suitable for duvets with a width of 100 cm and a length of 135 cm. On the bottom side, the duvet cover has a zipper closure.
Junior - 120 x 150 cm
The cover is suitable for duvets with a width of 120 cm and a length of 150 cm. The cover has a double tuck-in flap across the entire width.
1-person - 140 x 200 (220) cm
The cover is suitable for duvets up to 220 cm long through the double tuck-in flap across the entire width. The total length of the duvet cover, including tuck-in flap, is 240 cm.
